The Fokker Dr.1

The Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker was a World War I fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. The Dr.I saw widespread service in the spring of 1918. The Fokker Dr. I (Dr for "Driedecker" or triplane) emerged as one of the most iconic airplanes from World War I, as well as all of aviation history. Although slower than many of it's contemporaries while in service, the tri-wing configuration made this small plane extremely manverable. This extreme manuverabiliy gave talented pilots like Manfred von Richtofen and Werner Voss a lethal platform against enemy aircraft.
